The Fun Never Stops

If you want a reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the city then you can stop by Singapore’s Sentosa where both children and adults can have some fun. Good news, it’s just a few minutes away via tram or car. It’s a small island, reclaimed probably, that has all the resorts, amusement parks, and entertainment venues packed into one.

To get there, you can ride a tram which is situated in Singapore’s mall, Vivo City. The ticket costs about 5 Singapore dollars, and it’s an unlimited pass. The island had 3 main stops where you can hop on or hop off, depending where you’d like to go or what you’d like to do. They have the infamous Universal Studios, Resorts World, cable car rides, Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum, beaches, golf course and many more. You can also get there by car, though I haven’t taken that route yet. There might be an entrance fee or some sort.

Just a friendly reminder, put on some sunscreen, wear a hat or bring an umbrella, and drink lots of water ’cause it can get pretty hot in there.

Out of this World

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it a UFO? No, they’re the famous man-made trees of the beautiful city of Singapore.

Last month, I had the privilege of visiting this bustling metropolis and it didn’t disappoint. Armed with my camera and my trusty umbrella, I toured around the city with my family. I was in awe, and still am, of how artistic and creative it is. From the wall arts to the colorful houses, down to the Marina Bay Sands and the Gardens by the Bay, it is an artist’s (and architect’s) dream. One can never get enough of it. I sure don’t mind going back there.

Aside from its’ uniqueness, Singapore is a very safe place. You feel secured as you walk down the streets, even at night. Also, everyone speaks English, if not the basics of it. Not only that, the city is very clean. My brother said that he wouldn’t mind licking the roads with how clean it looks, but I still wouldn’t suggest doing that. This is due to the fact that they impose very strict rules with heavy consequences if you break them. It really lives up to its’ name as being a ‘Fine’ city.

Fine like wine

Edinbrugh, Scotland has preserved the majesty and beauty of it’s stoned structures. It has brought an untimely elegance that makes your jaw drop in awe and wonder. It felt like I was a part of the famous J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter, which I might add, had become a part of her inspiration in the creation of her famous books. Like wine, this city adapted and grew to become timeless and vibrant in it’s own right.

Back in time

Museums are a common destination to visit when exploring another country or when your school has decided on a field trip. Honestly, there can never be a school trip without Museums involved. It’s got to be educational right?

But aside from that, they bring about a certain beauty and curiosity to its visitors. Each item on display has it’s own story and majesty which it’s founder and the curators would like to share. No matter what state they were found, be it perfectly preserved or just a tiny shard, they hold so much value because they depict our past to the future.

Disheveled

Despite being known for it’s elegance, London has a hidden, rough-up, beauty in the streets of Shoreditch. Amassed with varying cultures and art, it’s a wonder in it’s own right. You can find the quirkiest shops, the classic finds, and many more. If you want a change from the Victorian buildings and high teas, it’s a good place to go.

Not a pretty picture.

Armed with just an iPhone at that time, I did what any first timer in London would do, snap pics ’til my phone lost its battery. It’s overwhelming to finally see all these famous landmarks that I used to only have the privilege of reading from a magazine or website back home. Here I am now, actually able to be so close and breathe the same air it does.

But like the picture, life just never got pretty for me. Home sickness took its toll, hate for my profession got to an all time high, and the city itself lost its’ spark.  I just wanted to go home, but I knew it wasn’t possible. I needed this opportunity and I just had to suck it up.

It’s amazing how you could dislike something so wonderful. I have a love-hate relationship with this place. After 1 year of living in it, I wanted to rekindle our relationship and try to find that spark once more.

So it Begins…

At this age and time, you’d think that being independent, living in one of the famous cities in the world, and earning wages regularly is ‘the life’. But having experienced all this, it’s not really worth it without family and friends.

The distance adds up to the stress pile and it only takes just a fraction of a second ’til everything comes tumbling down on you. Depression is a scary thing. Never take it lightly! I’m no doctor, but I’ve learned enough medical education to consider this feeling as close to a psychological ailment.

They said make yourself busy, find a hobby. So I did. I decided to take up photography with an old DSLR model. But hey, it works and it certainly helps a lot. I want to share the images of my travels, adventures, and everything beyond what my lens could capture. It’s a good feeling to express, it’s a more wonderful feeling to share. Enjoy!
